With biometrics, in a flash, students are linked to their lunch accounts using a fingerprint scanner. Students no longer delay the lunch line to search for their ID card, fear peer pressure for receiving free or reduced priced meals, or have someone else charge a meal on their account.
In addition, both parents and students can rest assured that the biometric images cannot be used for other identification purposes. Only a mathematical algorithm remains in the system after registration...not fingerprint images.
Pacific Triangle Software to be SIF Compliant
The Schools Interoperability Framework (SIF) is a non-profit membership organization comprised of software vendors, school districts, state departments of education and other organizations active in primary and secondary (K-12) markets, who have come together to create a set of rules and definitions that enable software programs from different companies to share information. This set of platform independent, vendor-neutral rules and definitions is called the "SIF Implementation Specification." Implementing products which conform to the SIF Implementation Specification make it possible to share data without any additional programming by the local school or district and without requiring each vendor to learn and support the intricacies of other vendor's applications.
The goal of SIF is to make it possible for school administrators, teachers and other school personnel to have secure, appropriate access to the most current and accurate data available.
Pacific Triangle Software, Inc. is involved with the SIF initiative and is working toward SIF compliance in order to provide more integrated products and services to its customers. Bon Appetit Software and Data Card, Inc have come together to produce a cutting edge product that completely revamps the world of using computer software to produce high quality plastic cards.
Bon Appetit Software provides an interface between the Bon Appetit student master files as part of the Bon Appetit/Data Card package
Our typical kit includes a digital camera, a data card printer and software for producing cards in full color and/or black and white. The cards produced are complete with logos, pictures and barcodes. Cards can be used in combination with preprogrammed scanners, also available from Bon Appetit Software, to provide a complete student ID and tracking system.
